THE SCOUT MOVEMENT IN KWANGTUNG.
SPREADING THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR.

That the Boy Scout movement is becoming a popular organization in Kwangtung is evidenced by the fact that this movement is finding support not only in Canton City but in the districts of the interior as well.
While the Boy Scout movement should be non political in character one of the biggest troops of Scouts in Canton is managed by the City Kuomintang, and for this reason the Canton Scouts have not been officially recognized by the local Boy Scout authorities, though the Canton Scouts have from time to time received ready advice and assistance from the local Scout officials.
Early this week thirty one Boy Scouts, attached to the Toishan Middle School, in Toishan, visited Hongkong for the purpose of sight seeing. They arrived here on Tuesday by train from Canton and left on Wednesday evening. They visited the New Territories and other places of interest in the Colony. Although one of the local Scout Troops was informed of the visit, the Toishan Scouts made no attempt to communicate with the Scouts' Headquarters in Lower Albert Road.
